Caroline is a poet and multimedia storyteller from Kentucky.
And for the past nine years, she has poured her passion into strategic communications. She works across sectors, amplifying causes she cares about. Her past employers range from a green-economy nonprofit and two US food banks to a community festival and women-focused media firm. She even helped launch the crime and economics podcast Probable Causation, serving as the show’s original sound engineer. Today, she provides creative support for Medicaid projects focused on aging and disability.
Caroline’s poetry lives in Attached to the Living World: A New Ecopoetry Anthology, The Dodge, and Tinderbox, and her prose in Hag Bodies and Your Green Life—among other publications. She is an alumna of the University of Virginia’s Area Program in Poetry Writing (APPW), and her MFA thesis at American University earned the Myra Sklarew Award for remarkable originality.
Caroline lives in Washington, DC, with her bookish husband and striped cat. When not writing, she enjoys running, foraging, and making music.
